God’s Love and Man’s Response

Home page

In the Bible, in human history, and in the world today, a pattern is revealed:

God’s love and mercy . . . and man’s selfish, foolish response – and worse.

God gives Himself to every person.

He gives Himself through His Son Jesus Christ.

Man has a choice: God or self.

Tragically, most people choose self.

Yet, God is available.

He is even more than available: Jesus Christ, the Lord God Almighty, knocks on the door of every person’s heart (Revelation 3:20).

He wants every person to choose Him . . . to choose Jesus Christ . . . and live forever in heaven, which is filled with His glorious presence, the presence of Jesus.

This pattern is clearly revealed in the Bible, including the first two books, Genesis and Exodus.

This website has some summaries of famous stories in the Bible; of man’s response to Jesus Christ the man; and more.

Again and again, man chooses self. Another pattern emerges: often, man is very sinful, rebellious, corrupt, evil and and even violent.

It is only the love, mercy, and grace of God through Jesus Christ that man is saved.

Jesus’ Words Revealing the Only True God

“Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM’” (John 8:54-58).

“Jesus cried out and said: ’He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. He who sees Me sees Him who sent Me’” (John 12:45).

Jesus said: “’He who has seen Me has seen the Father’” (John 14:9)

“All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him” (Matthew 11:26).

“He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me” (Luke 10:16).

“Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him” (John 5:19-23).

Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me” (John 7:16).

“You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me” (John 7:28-29).

“He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him – the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak” (John 12:44-50).
