The name “Jesus” in Hebrew literally means “God saves.”
God sent Jesus to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).
Jesus came to the earth to seek and to save that which was lost (Matthew 18:11, Luke 19:10).
Jesus spoke and revealed truth to the people, that they may be saved (John 5:34). Jesus spoke and said what the Father commanded and told Him to speak and say (John 12:49-50).
Jesus is the bread of life. The Father sent Jesus from heaven to give life to the world. Jesus gave His body on the cross and died for the world. If anyone eats Jesus’ flesh, he will live forever. As the living Father sent Jesus, and Jesus lives because of the Father, so he who eats Jesus’ flesh will live because of Jesus (John 6).
Jesus is the door. If anyone enters by Him, he will be saved, and will go in and out freely and find pasture and spiritual security (John 10:9, NKJV & Amplified).
Jesus is the good shepherd (John 10:11). He laid down His life for His sheep. He came to the earth that His people might have life and have it to an abundance, to the full, until it overflows (John 10:10).
Jesus did not come to judge the world. Jesus came to save the world (John 12:47).
